Facts About Milkfish : Milkfish is also called as Bangus, Bangos and Bandeng across the globe and got the name of milkfish by its white, tender flesh and this flesh has a lovely sweet and mild taste. They live in a various offshores around tropical islands in the Pacific and Indian Oceans at depths from 1 to 40 meters but they are also seen in some rivers. They have an average length of 1 meter but they can grow up to 15 kilograms. Thanks to their commonly found prey such as algae and invertebrates, they can have a long lifespan of about 15 years. Their population grows more than 1 million tons per year as female milkfishes lay around 5 million eggs once a year between March and May.
